One of a Kind, Supercharged 2001 Holden Monaro with less than 7000kms travelled!
Whilst the milage is low on this very special Monaro, it has quite the story to tell. Originally purchased new in Victoria from John Collin's Holden. The original owner Andrew Manson who ran his own mag & tyre company used the car to demo his products at certain motor shows. After first appearing in the 2002 Melbourne Motor Show, the car began its journey and transformation into what it is today.
Clearly the most obvious change made is the paint scheme. Completed by War Paint in Victoria, the Jungle theme paint is a lot more than first meets the eye. Closer you look, and you will start to see palm trees, zebra stripes and Hot Wheels logo's all airbrushed into the design. Coated with over ten coats of clear to be sure it survives the test of time. Bonspeed Billet Ramone Alloy wheels wrapped in P Zero Pirelli's.
Shortly after noticing the surreal paint, you will become aware of the fact that under the hood is no ordinary Chevy V8, the give away being the blower poking out of the bonnet! The 2.1l Whipple twin screw type supercharger was fitted by Forced Air Technologies in Melbourne and is capable of a huge 650bhp. However on this particular Monaro the internals were kept standard with a compression ratio of 10:1, the blower is set to 6psi allowing the engine to produce a hugely impressive 350kw at the wheels.
Fitted with the injections from a supercharged V6 to cope with the extra fuel requirements along with aluminium fuel rails, a custom hat and ceramic coated pacemaker extractors. It is certainly fair to say that the engine bay's presentation matches the car's exterior.
Paired to the pacemaker extractors is a fully custom Mandrel Bent exhaust system, starting at the front with a twin 2.5
secondaries into a 3.5
exhaust with twin 3
tips. The sound that comes as a result of this is truely mind numbing, it has to be heard to be believed!
Stopping this car is no easy task and required the best in braking technology to effectively achieve this. AP Racing 6 pot front callipers hug the Monaro's new 365mm front rotors where the back's 340mm rears is serviced by AP Racing's 4 pot callipers. To ensure the car stays stable not only under brakes but in the corners too, this Monaro is fitted with KING springs all round paired with adjustable Koni struts. Topped off with a camber kit and front sway bar.
The car's interior is something very special, fitted with a full retire in cream white leather complemented by Burgundy inserts thanks to the craftsmanship of Rod Lingard in Shepparton. The interior is then set off by a world class audio/visual install featuring two screens, a 6 stacker CD player and even a Playstation. Fitted with over 12 speakers, 3 amps and a sub styled with a fresh 'nuclear power' look in the boot, its fair to say you won't be oute by much in the sound department.
This car has been owned by our Automotive Groups owner and managing director for over 15 years now and will only be sold to the right buyer. It is a timeless classic and will have it's place in the history books for a long time to come.
