Celebrating 25 Years of Thrills: The 2024 Gumball 3000 Rally
The 25th Anniversary of the Gumball 3000 Rally promises to be nothing short of legendary. Taking place from September 14th to the 22nd in 2024, the much-anticipated event kicks off in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), covering an exhilarating 3,000 km through five countries, with a grand finale in the dazzling city of Singapore. It’s not just about the cars; this is an electrifying spectacle of celebrity glamour, jaw-dropping supercars, and epic parties that blend adrenaline with culture.
A Star-Studded Cast of Drivers and Supercars
When you think of the Gumball 3000, the first thing that springs to mind is its glamorous roster of participants, and 2024’s lineup might be the most exciting yet. With British Gumball founder Maximillion Cooper leading the charge in a Lamborghini SVJ, this year’s grid features an international mix of stars, royalty, sports legends, and influencers. From US streaming sensation IShowSpeed tearing down the road in his Lamborghini Huracan STO to Manchester United legend Patrice Evra commanding a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the star power is as dazzling as the supercars they’re driving.
And it doesn’t stop there. Automotive YouTube legends like DailyDrivenExotics (DDE) will be there in their roaring, custom Lambo, while top Australian YouTubers Lazarbeam and Lachlan, along with Sidemen’s Vikkstar, will make their Gumball debut in a rugged Land Rover Defender. Add rap icons Ja Rule and Bun B, MLB Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., and former NFL star Jimmy Graham into the mix, and you’ve got a convoy that is guaranteed to make headlines at every stop along the way.
From Saigon to Singapore: An Unforgettable Route
The journey itself is one for the ages. Beginning in the heart of Saigon on September 14th, the rally will storm through Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia before hitting the F1-packed streets of Singapore. The rally will not just focus on the thrill of driving but on a celebration of culture, history, and charity.
Day one promises to start with a bang in Saigon’s city center, where the Gumballers will be treated to live performances by international DJs such as Martin2Smoove, Andy Purnell, and CJ Beatz. When the start flag waves at midday on September 15th, a global celebrity will send the convoy roaring through Vietnam, starting with a visit to the historic Cu Chi tunnels, a poignant nod to the country’s rich history, before crossing into Cambodia.
The Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh will give the Gumball 3000 a royal welcome, featuring the country’s top music talent performing live for fans. From there, the convoy will journey north to the ancient temple city of Siem Reap, where one of the rally’s most extraordinary moments will unfold: a charity auction and gala dinner at the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, in partnership with Christie’s.
Charity at the Heart of Gumball 3000
At its core, Gumball 3000 has always been about giving back, and the 25th anniversary is no different. This year, the rally will continue its commitment to supporting youth programs worldwide through the Gumball 3000 Foundation. As part of the “Supply the Ride” campaign, the rally will donate skateboard equipment in each country along the route, in partnership with The Skatepark Project. Additionally, funds raised at the Angkor Wat gala will support a local Cambodian community by building a floating sports pitch in Kampong Kleang.
On September 17th, Gumball will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest supercar display at Angkor Wat, making the stop even more special.
Thailand, Malaysia, and the Grand Finale in Singapore
From Siem Reap, the Gumball convoy moves into Thailand, where Bangkok will host a night of Thai boxing and live music. The next two days take the rally south through Thailand’s tropical rainforests, arriving in the coastal paradise of Krabi for another charity activation, this time involving a football showcase with freestyle world champion Sean Garnier at the famous floating football pitch in Ko Panyi.
After Krabi, the rally reaches the hyper-modern skyline of Kuala Lumpur on September 20th. Fans can expect an unforgettable performance from Ja Rule, who will bring his signature style to the celebration at The Exchange TRX Mall.
The final leg of the journey ends with a massive finish in Singapore on September 21st, coinciding with the city’s famed F1 weekend. The grand rooftop of Marina Bay Sands will host the coveted Asprey’s Spirit of Gumball Trophy ceremony, capping off what promises to be a journey filled with heart-stopping action, unforgettable experiences, and new friendships forged on the open road.
A Celebration of Culture and Adventure
Maximillion Cooper, founder of the Gumball 3000, sums it up perfectly: “This route is a truly spectacular way to celebrate Gumball 3000’s 25th anniversary, embracing new cultures and uniting people from all nationalities on an incredible adventure through this beautiful region.”
The 2024 Gumball 3000 Rally will be one for the ages, merging high-speed thrills with cultural immersion, philanthropy, and A-list glamour. Whether you’re a supercar aficionado, a lover of travel, or just someone who wants to experience the extraordinary, this event will be a spectacle you won’t want to miss.
